Parenting Classes

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Workshop Audience 2Parenting classes are held once a week for two hours in a group education setting; the number of weeks depends on the program. Holding classes once a week gives parents time to absorb and practice the information taught in each class. Having the classes in a group education setting gives parents the opportunity to hear the stories of other parents, to know that they aren’t alone, to learn from each other and to teach each other. This empowers parents by showing them that they do have positive knowledge and that they can both practice it and help others by imparting it.

Parenting classes are multi- sensory, meaning that classes can include lecture, discussion, role-plays, activities, videos and other interactions between participants and parent educators. We understand that people learn differently and we want to provide a fun, educational setting for learning so that everyone gets as much out of our classes as possible.
