P.A.R.E.N.T.S., Inc. is seeking a female Parent Educator to work a minimum of 6 hours per week delivering our parenting in recovery curriculum to female inmates at the Women’s Community Correctional Center. The two-hour classes are held on Wednesday and Friday afternoon from 12:00-2:00 p.m. and one hour of prep time is included per class. You will also be expected to attend paid monthly staff meetings and the occasional outreach event when available.
This position is grant-funded through July 2013 and there may be opportunities to teach additional classes before or after this period, depending on other program openings and the re-award of this grant funding.
All applicants must be honest, self-motivated, responsible, energetic, dedicated, able to meet deadlines and operate without daily supervision. You will also be required to check your company issued cell phone and email daily.
Minimum Requirements: Female (per facility requirements), Bachelor’s degree in Social Services, Education, or related field, from an accredited institution. Applicants must have a minimum of one year experience working with substance abuse, as well as previous experience facilitating a group or working with adult learners. If you own a motor vehicle, you must maintain required levels of insurance.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Social Services. Education, or related field, from an accredited institution. CSAC.
